I thought Members of the GBA would want to have early access to the terms of the Legislature’s new statutes setting up procedures extending limits on residential evictions and providing delay procedures and conditions of a request to delay payments where mortgage payments have fallen behind. Please find attached the text of Assembly Bill 3088 that has now passed and been signed by the Governor.
2 Points of immediate interest.
1) The statutes expressly do not prevent eviction from commercial properties, only most residential properties.
2) The statute expressly preempts any contrary ordinance adopted by a city or county.
